Supermodel Joan Smalls has done it again.
Supermodel Joan Smalls has done it again. She has snagged yet another major cover. She is on the cover of Vogue Australia May 2012. She was recently in the cover of one of Vogue Italia's controversial yet one of the best selling March 2012 issue.
Smalls told WWD back in Feb, “It’s nice to show the world that we don’t only have to be one thing or categorized in one box. It’s important to show the world—and fashion—that diversity is beautiful.”
I think this is a great achievement for Models of Colour to start being celebrated throughout the world.
All in one, this is a great start. Considering that it is even rarer to see an African face in major magazines, Small's success is landmark. I think there’s so many beautiful Models of Colour in the world who don’t think they really get the chance to show their potential. Here is to a new beginning? Let's say may be! - Venicia Guinot
